Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Sally & Anthony

Sunday, August 8th, 2010 in Weddings

Venue: Chesapeake Bay Beach Club
Flowers: Cache Fleur
DJ: Tim Turbidy
Cake: For Goodness Cakes

Sally and Anthony came into town from San Francisco for their lovely waterfront wedding. Both ceremony and reception took place at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, an absolutely gorgeous venue. After a rooftop ceremony performed by a dear friend of the bride and groom, we had a few moments for portraits near the water. Dinner, toasts and dancing followed in the aptly named Sunset Ballroom where everyone enjoyed a fantastic view of the sun setting over the bay. As darkness fell, the party revved up with some very impressive dancing by Sally and Anthony’s friends and family.

The St. Regis – Carla & Kfir

Sunday, August 1st, 2010 in Portfolio, Weddings

Venue: The St. Regis, Washington DC
Florist: Multiflor
Entertainment: Venechi Productions
Makeup Artist: Lauren Miller

Just a few weeks after their long-awaited engagement session, we met up with Carla and Kfir again for their beautiful wedding at the St. Regis in downtown DC. Carla got ready surrounded by family at her parents’ home in Fairfax and Lauren Miller did a wonderful job with flawless makeup that lasted all day long, even in the heat. We photographed Carla’s sister’s wedding last summer and I really enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with their family for another very special day. Kfir’s family and friends traveled to DC from Israel to join in the celebration.

Carla and Kfir had an opportunity to see each other privately before the ceremony and then we made our way to the lovely, romantic garden at the St. Regis for their outdoor interfaith ceremony. Haydee Gamez and her staff ensured that every moment of the event ran smoothly. Dinner was served by the always gracious and detail oriented staff at the St. Regis (some of the servers have been employed there for 20+ years! that’s dedication). Dancing and fun followed into the night with Carla and Kfir’s closest friends and family.

Venue: Kirkland Manor, St. Michaels, Maryland
Florals: Swan Cove Flowers
Event Coordinator: Maryann Judy, Ambiance-Distinctive Weddings and Events
Band: Truth Groove
Ceremony Music: Bay Strings Quartet
Make-up Artist: Jamie LaBoe

Rebecca and Jake were married on the grounds of the breathtaking Kirkland Manor in St. Michaels, Maryland.  Rebecca’s father and stepfather escorted her down the aisle.  Then the couple’s daughter occupied herself during the ceremony by trying to collect all of the rose petals!  She managed to gather quite a few before the new family was introduced to their guests. After a big group photo and some family portraits, Rebecca and Jake took a stroll around the grounds together.  Under a tent decorated with multicolored lanterns, Truth Groove played into the night and a vibrant sunset provided a beautiful backdrop for the end of the evening.

Silver Swan Bayside Heather & Ryan

Thursday, May 13th, 2010 in Portfolio, Weddings

Heather and Ryan held their intimate wedding outside at the Silver Swan Bayside on Kent Island. The beautiful gardens and private beach provided the perfect backdrop for their pretty, elegant affair. Guests sat in the sunshine and enjoyed sea breezes during the ceremony. Afterwards on the patio, the slowly setting sun gently lit the toasts and parent dances. We really enjoyed photographing this fun-loving couple whose uncomplicated approach to their wedding may just prove that in the end, all you need is love.

The Gramercy Mansion Holli & Michael

Monday, May 10th, 2010 in Portfolio, Weddings

Venue: Gramercy Mansion
Wedding Planner: Wedding Savvy
Florist: Great Expectations by Inka

We had the great pleasure of photographing Holli and Michael’s wedding at the Gramercy Mansion. The gardens were awash in spring colors as this year’s blossoms were just emerging. In the lovely bridal suite, Holli didn’t seem nervous at all surrounded by her mother and bridesmaids.

The couple saw each other before the ceremony for casual portraits where they shared a few moments and some private words of affection. Guests filled the romantic garden and enjoyed the lush green backdrop behind the lovely, emotional service.  The couple’s lovebird theme adorned the dinner tables on the terrace. The festivities continued into the night on the dance floor at the reception, and then the couple topped off the memorable evening with a sparkler exit.

Married! Jessica & Michael

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 in Weddings

Jessica and Michael are having a lovely wedding at Woodend in the fall, but due to a serious illness in Jessica’s family, they made the decision to move their ceremony up to ensure that all of the most important members of their families could be in attendance. The rain held off until the breaking of the glass, which was good because Michael was a little nervous about it. Fortunately, in the rush of gathering up chairs and running for cover no one scrutinized his glass-breaking skills too closely!

Engaged! Christine & Steve

Thursday, April 29th, 2010 in engagement

We don’t think of ourselves as relationship experts, although we do love telling stories about relationships through images.  But on our recent engagement session photo shoot with Christine and Steve, we couldn’t help but take note of this couple’s ability to roll with the punches and laugh all along the way.  After a last minute location change, we were greeted at Montrose Park with some unsavory comments from a man whose mid-afternoon nap we unwittingly interrupted.  The couple also brought along their beloved dog, who took us on quite a few adventures.  So how did Christine and Steve get so many lovely photographs that day?  Flexibility, great senses of humor and a deep affection for each other that we believe will carry them into many happy days in the future, including their upcoming wedding this summer at Lansdowne Resort!

Engaged! Lillian & Montri

Monday, April 12th, 2010 in engagement

Lillian and Montri are planning their 2010 wedding at the National Harbor Sunset Room and we are so excited to have the opportunity to document their day! We had an opportunity to photograph their cherry blossom engagement session right at the peak of the blooms. It was a gorgeous day and thousands of people were crowding the festival, but Lillian and Montri were so focused on each other it seemed as if they were the only two people among the beautiful trees.  After a quick costume change, we headed to Georgetown for a few casual shots in this historic neighborhood.
