The St. Regis – Carla & Kfir

Sunday, August 1st, 2010 in Portfolio, Weddings

Venue: The St. Regis, Washington DC
Florist: Multiflor
Entertainment: Venechi Productions
Makeup Artist: Lauren Miller

Just a few weeks after their long-awaited engagement session, we met up with Carla and Kfir again for their beautiful wedding at the St. Regis in downtown DC. Carla got ready surrounded by family at her parents’ home in Fairfax and Lauren Miller did a wonderful job with flawless makeup that lasted all day long, even in the heat. We photographed Carla’s sister’s wedding last summer and I really enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with their family for another very special day. Kfir’s family and friends traveled to DC from Israel to join in the celebration.

Carla and Kfir had an opportunity to see each other privately before the ceremony and then we made our way to the lovely, romantic garden at the St. Regis for their outdoor interfaith ceremony. Haydee Gamez and her staff ensured that every moment of the event ran smoothly. Dinner was served by the always gracious and detail oriented staff at the St. Regis (some of the servers have been employed there for 20+ years! that’s dedication). Dancing and fun followed into the night with Carla and Kfir’s closest friends and family.

Elizabeth & Stephen

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 in Weddings

Elizabeth and Stephen were married at her parents’ home in Maryland. An international couple, they met in the UK where they reside and Stephen is from New Zealand, while Elizabeth grew up in Maryland. The very warm day was a lot of fun with guests from far and wide in attendance. It also happened to be Elizabeth’s birthday, so her friends made sure she had birthday cupcakes while she was getting ready!

Engaged! Carla & Kefir

Sunday, July 4th, 2010 in engagement

I can’t tell you how pleased I am to show off this engagement session with one of our awesome couples! I’m especially happy because their engagement session was rescheduled for rain and bad weather FOUR TIMES!! We finally got a day with some sun, and a bit of a thunderstorm risk, but somehow it managed to skirt Old Town where we were shooting. It was hot, but we had a fantastic time with Carla and Kefir and I’m hoping that some fabulous weather comes their way for their wedding at the St. Regis this summer!

Ronald Reagan Building Mary Leigh & Michael

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 in Portfolio, Weddings

Venue: Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center
Bridal Preparations: JW Marriott DC
DJ: Mike Bell of MyDeeJay
Florist: Da Vinci
Makeup Artist: Dayan Herrera

Mary Leigh and Mike had a fabulous black tie wedding at the Reagan Building in Washington DC.  The couple saw each other outside before the ceremony, and both looked picture perfect.  The bridal party posed for a few photos outside in the Woodrow Wilson Plaza before everyone made their way to the Pavilion for the ceremony.  The huge windows and vaulted ceilings provided a beautifully modern backdrop for the affair.  During cocktails, the Pavilion was transformed into an elegant space for dinner and dancing by the always fabulous catering staff at the Reagan Building.  The egomatic photobooth was a huge hit again with kids of all ages.  All of our favorite moments that night involved dancing: the choreographed first dance, the special parent dances and, unforgettably, a moonwalk battle on the dance floor between Mike and his brother.

At the end of the evening, guests lined the hallway and bid the newlyweds farewell with a joyful bubble exit.
