Christine & Jim wedding USNA chapel

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010 in Weddings

Jim and Christine have a fascinating story. They first met over twenty years ago when Jim was on the USNA sailing team and Christine was on vacation with her family in Michigan. After spending time together, Jim inadvertently left his jacket behind when the sailing team departed early for Chicago. Christine, being a very conscientious young woman, drove to Chicago to bring Jim back his jacket.

As the years passed, Christine and Jim found themselves moving in different directions and each married and had children. Years later, they reunited and joined their two beautiful families together during a beautiful ceremony at the US Naval Academy Chapel.

Dinner at the USNA Club was followed by some very sentimental toasts by their children and lively dancing by everyone in attendance!

Snowstorm, again!

I (Jen) am originally from New England and I have to say – this is the most snow I’ve seen in the decade I’ve lived in the DC metro area! We ventured out this morning to downtown Annapolis and took a few fun images in the snow. I have to say as much as we enjoyed Katie and Kaipo’s snowy wedding last month, it’s nice to enjoy the snow with no responsibilities!

Right after leaving our community we saw that this state plow truck had managed to get stuck in a snowbank. This did not bode well for our excursion and made us both a little nervous.

We successfully made it downtown where we ran into snowblowers, people carrying shovels trying to get to work, and a guy walking his very cute greyhound (wearing a custom greyhound snow jacket). I hope you enjoy seeing these images from the Snowpocalypse!

Optimizing Your Wedding Photography Tip 999

When choosing to include parents and other special guests in your processional, it is often much better, photographically to have those guests who are there as a couple be escorted by their significant other rather than an usher. Often when the female VIP is escorted by an usher, her significant other ends up walking behind them on the way down the aisle. If you instead allow a couple to enter together during the processional, they are photographed together rather than potentially with a stranger (usher) and no one is left in the background of the image. If the VIP does not have a significant other, or they are otherwise occupied, having them escorted by one of your ushers or groomsmen is a lovely way to make them feel special.
